We’re excited to announce the next talk in the Anthropologists in the City series: Spaces and Traces: An Anthropological Journey Through Place
Welcome to **Spaces and Traces: An Anthropological Journey Through Place**! Join us on **Wed Dec 11 2024** at **7:00 PM** at **Fairweather Brewing Company** and explore the many ways we interact with and are shaped by the spaces around us. This in-person event promises to be both educational and entertaining, so grab your friends and come thirsty for knowledge!
Four speakers will guide us through stories of place and memory: how a popular mobile game, Pokemon Go, transforms our sense of location; the comforting power of dimly lit spaces and how they evoke feelings of safety and warmth during life’s challenges; a moving exploration of grief, memorialized through DNA art that incorporates ashes and other biological materials; and the experiences of Haitian migrants at the US/Mexico border, navigating complex landscapes of movement and displacement.
6:30pm: Doors Open
7:00pm – 8:00pm: Public Talk
8:00pm – 9:00pm: Mix & Mingle
