Campus Classroom Technologies (CCT)

Campus Classroom Technologies (CCT), formerly CAVS, is responsible for the design, installation, and ongoing support audio-visual equipment in all Registrar-controlled classrooms.

Classroom Directory

Run by CCT, this directory is updated regularly. It provides a list of classrooms, including photos and descriptions of each classroom, as well as the available A/V equipment.

Classroom Equipment Booking

Make sure you book equipment you wish to use so CCT can make sure it’s available when you need it, especially for evening classes.

Email Policy

The policy of the Faculty of Social Sciences that all e-mail communication sent from students to instructors (including TAs), and from students to staff, must originate from the student’s own McMaster University e-mail account.

Health Research Services (HRS)

HRS provides advice and administrative support to process operating and personnel grants, manages research resources and administers the ethics review process for medical research involving human and animal subjects.

Information Technology (UTS)

University Technology Services (UTS) provides central support for University information systems, core services like, MacID, classroom audio visual services, email, spam filtering and telecommunications.

Lecture Capture

Want to capture your lecture so that students can access it later through A2L? CCT has list of classrooms with this technology and instructions on scheduling this service.

MacPherson Institute

Paul R. MacPherson Institute for Leadership, Innovation and Excellence in Teaching provides help with any teaching issue, course feedback, course refinement or construction, workshops, seminars, and symposia, peer consulting, learning technology, and resources for teaching.

Research Support

Research Support Team

The research support team in the Faculty of Social Sciences is working to foster a research culture of collaboration and community engagement, increase awareness, co-creation, and use of Social Sciences research both within and beyond McMaster, increase faculty success at securing funding for research.


The Research Office for Administration, Development and Support (ROADS) helps researchers access funding from external granting agencies. Formerly known as the Office of Research Services, ROADS supports McMaster's research community through the funding application process and helps bring awarded projects into operation.

The faculty has a still camera you can borrow. Contact Stacey Gabitous to make arrangements. However, if you are looking for video equipment Lyons New Media Center allows you to borrow video cameras and oither equipment for 24hrs at a time. Cost = free.
