Sarah Paust, MA Student

Contributing Editor at the Society for Cultural Anthropology

Sarah Paust, an MA student, has been accepted to the Contributing Editor Program at the Society for Cultural Anthropology. From the SCA website "The Society for Cultural Anthropology, a section of the American Anthropological Association, constitutes a continuing effort to think expansively about the anthropological endeavor. Founded in the 1980s to highlight a concern for culture and to foster interdisciplinary connections, the Society is dedicated to interrogating and challenging the boundaries of the discipline. We welcome new points of view and approaches to a world forever in a state of becoming".

Sarah Paust (She/Her), a first-year MA student in the Anthropology of Health, has been accepted to the Contributing Editor Program at the Society for Cultural Anthropology. For her two-year term, Sarah will serve in the Teaching Tools section, working collaboratively across institutions to create multimedia resources for educators and engage in reflexive dialogue on ethnographic practice and pedagogy. She is especially interested in the work being done by K-12 anthropologists, inspired by her own introduction to the discipline as a high school junior. She also hopes to continue growing her current residency project with the Sherman Centre, an open-access mock course on biopolitics designed for young people interested in health justice and activism.

"Contributing Editors create, edit, and curate digital content for the SCA website and social media feeds. Many of our innovative streams of web content started as the brainchild of one or two Contributing Editors, and the SCA prides itself on empowering and learning from early-career scholars. Through their participation in the Program, graduate students and recent PhDs also build networks across institutions and take part in mentoring and professionalization activities." --SCA
