Overview
The Interdisciplinary Minor in Archaeology is based on archaeology and archaeology-related courses offered in the School of Earth, Environment & Society, and in the Departments of Greek and Roman Studies and Anthropology. It requires students to gain knowledge and understanding of a broad range of arts and sciences relevant to the practice of archaeology but also permits students the flexibility to specialize in topics of particular interest within related disciplines. Students planning a minor in Archaeology may wish to take GKROMST 1M03 – History of Greece and Rome
Requirements
- 3 units of Level I Anthropology
- 6 units of ANTHROP 2PA3 – Introduction to Anthropological Archaeology, ANTHROP 2WA3 – Neanderthals to Pyramids: Introduction to World Archaeology, EARTHSC 1G03 – Earth and the Environment
- 15 units of the course list found in the Academic Calendar, at least nine of the 15 units must be selected from outside the student’s own department
How to Register for an Interdisciplinary Minor
Students can now plan ahead and register for the Interdisciplinary Minor (IM) on Mosaic. Through registering for and IM, students will be able to learn about exciting new courses, discover unique opportunities associated with the minor, and connect with administrators and faculty.
Please note: you will still need to track your progress towards completion of the minor and declare your minor at graduation.
Follow these steps to register for in Interdisciplinary Minor in Archaeology on Mosaic.
1.Navigate to Student Centre through Mosaic Homepage
2. From the drop-down menu on the left-hand side, select “Service Requests”
3. Click on “Create New Request”
4. Select “Interdisciplinary Minor” and then hit “Next”
5. Select Interdisciplinary Minor in “Archaeology” and then hit “Next”
6. Press “Submit” (Note: You do not need to fill in the comment box)
Once submitted, you will be able to track the process of your Interdisciplinary Minor registration through the Student Centre drop-down menu for “Service Request”
