Welcome to **More Than Human: The Anthropology Behind Mummies, Zombies, and Vampires**! Join us on **Wed Oct 23 2024** at **7:00 PM** at **Fairweather Brewing Company** and discover the cultural and historical significance of mummies, zombies, and vampires from an anthropological perspective. This in-person event promises to be both educational and entertaining, so grab your friends and come thirsty for knowledge!
Dr. Andrew Roddick, Dr. Karen McGarry, and Meghan Langlois, our first graduate student speaker, will explore the anthropological significance of mummies, zombies, and vampires. Their discussions will address the cultural and political roles of the dead in Andean societies, the contemporary fascination with liminal beings, and the practices surrounding burials historically labeled as “vampire” burials in Poland, highlighting their cultural context and significance.
